Welcome to the Facilitator Application Form for the College Program on Islam (CPOI) 2025. We are seeking dedicated individuals to volunteer as participant Facilitators for this transformative program. Role Overview The CPOI Facilitator plays an important role in assisting the Lead Faculty and National Program Director in creating a camp environment that fosters critical thinking and deep inquiry. Working directly with participants, facilitators will help participants engage in meaningful dialogue with our scholars and other participants, and ensure participants engage deeply with program content while feeling supported throughout their journey. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and be atleast 26 years of age. Ideal candidates should demonstrate a passion for the academic study of Islam, and/or be pursuing a Master's Degree in Islamic Studies. As a facilitator, your role will encompass three key areas. First, you will help create an intellectual environment where participants can examine their perspectives through thoughtful questioning, ensuring a safe space for challenging discussions while maintaining academic rigor. Second, you will lead daily small-group "pod time" sessions, developing critical reflection questions specific to each day's content and collecting valuable participant feedback. Finally, you will provide essential program support by ensuring participant engagement, maintaining a supportive presence, and fostering community bonds among participants. Throughout all aspects of your role, you will work closely with distinguished academic scholars and program leadership to create an enriching experience for all participants. Program Dates This year's program will be held from June 7th to June 14th, 2025 at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Facilitators are required to arrive on June 6th, 2025 for orientation and training, and should plan departures for the evening of June 14th, 2025 from Atlanta, GA. Location The program will be held at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. While field trips in and around Atlanta will be arranged, the majority of the program will be held at the University. Application Dates The Application period will commence on January 10th, 2025. The Application deadline is February 28th, 2025. Interviews will take place the week of March 14th for shortlisted candidates.
